Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Petite Pairs meets Stampin’ Up! new DSP Stacks
As you know, there are days when getting to my craft desk is pretty much impossible. My husband Chris works shifts and those often fall at the weekend. Put it this way, when he starts a run of working at the weekend, that’s it, game over for the next 5 weeks each Saturday and Sunday.
He’s either very here (and very helpful to be fair!) or very not here…. His hours are long, he’s out of the house for 14 hours straight and he does 4 of those on the trot.
That kind of means that I have to put my ‘work’ on hold and be full on Mummy. This is not a bad thing though…! I adore my children and adore how busy they keep me (don’t go there with how much washing they also provide me!), but there are days when I can snatch 15 minutes here and there to myself. Not enough to break out the craft supplies, but enough that I can enjoy a coffee with a notebook in front of me.
I always have notebooks around. They’re in my handbag, in the car, in the kitchen. Everywhere!
And when I can snatch those few minutes to myself, I let my brain spill out ideas for projects, for cards, for blog posts, for themed series.
And getting to the (quite clearly longwinded) point of the aforementioned chatter, this card today was one that I sketched out during one of those weekend coffee breaks!
I only had pre order sneak peak demo stuff at the time, so I was even scribbling down colours too!
My finished card remains true to the sketch I drew out, including the new Neutrals DSP stacks and Watermelon Wonder cardstock. However, I pulled out Petite Pairs for my greeting. I thought it had gone on the retiring list, so was a very happy bunny when it reappeared and was so pleased, I knew I had to use it!
I hope you like my card today, despite the waffly chatter!!!
I hope you enjoyed this project, please do use the hostess code to support Pootles! (hostess code shown in the top right of my blog for the current one!) If your order is over £150, please do not use this code as You become the hostess and get the Rewards!

Awww thanks Peggy x
Looks fabulous! I don’t go anywhere without a notebook either, I even have one beside the bed for those ideas that strike in the middle of the night! Creative Blessings, Tracy x
Ah I haven’t quite got one in my bedroom. Yet….
Eh, the chatter is actually one of the things that keeps me coming back for more =)
You’re a darling, thanks Phoebe x
Love this Sam….one of my fave stamp sets. Have Soooooo many sheets of the old DSP stacks left….can’t justify the new ones at all…they are GORJUS tho ooxx
They’re worth it….
I love these colors! And, if we only do the top half design on a landscape card, you gave us more ideas with just this idea, which is another reason I love coming to your blog! Finally, I love reading about your life; thank you for sharing! Enjoy the washing and the mess and the babies! My baby leaves in 12 days for college! My nest will be empty! 🙁 Keep your posts coming, Sam; I am going to need crafting to keep me going! 🙂
Oh no. I do not look forward to the empty nest days :'(
Great design Sam! What are the dimensions? You can’t tell by the photo. Hope you get a moment to yourself. We all need it now and then. Hugs, Shari from across the pond
Oooo I shall measure for you x
Love the color combo. And always fun to hear bits and pieces about your family. Your posts are a delight. Do you decorate the fronts of your many journals? If you do, I’d love to see how they look.
I decorate a lot of them yes!
Hi Sam. Great blog again and lovely card. Very nice to hear about your family . You are a very busy lady. However did you find that your new DSP stack was not 12 x 12? I think SU has had a problem with their DSP stacks this time. No problem if only used for layering of course but tricky if using it for large bags/boxes
Mine is okay but I’ve heard that’s the reason you can’t order it right now until it’s sorted….
As usual, lovely! Looking forward what’s new for tomorrow…<3
Awww thanks Belinda xx
