South Hill Designs & Stampin’ Up! Sunday Beautiful Sponged Kite Card

Oh how cute is this?

A couple of weeks ago, the children and I went to visit my parents at their caravan for the day. There was a whole kite thing going on, the end result, after 4 year old Olive had totally shown the rest of us up, was a kit escaping into the tree. It was rescued eventually by my Dad with the help of a bicycle wrench, rope and a good throwing arm….

However, that prompted me to put a Kite Charm in my South Hill Designs locket of the moment and it hasn’t moved since!

When I was thinking up the dual project for today, I had one project in mind, then South Hills went and announced a massive joining offer worth $250/£240 so I wanted to make that my focus for this week’s video, however, I didn’t want the pretty card I’d made go to waste.

It’s super simple. I cut a kite shape from a single piece of Colour Me Irresistible DSP. I masked off the various sections and then sponged in the colours to match the kite charm. Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron, Watermelon Wonder and Wild Wasabi.

I wanted to create a tail, so that became an extension to hide the ‘join’ of the 4 colours, and with a lot of patience with the Silver Ribbon, I got a bow on there too. Eventually….

So a simple card to remind us of a fun day with a lot of laughter!
