Pootles Advent Countdown #8 Beautiful Colour Acetate Lidded Box Tutorial
Squeeeeeak!!!! We’re on number 8 now, and that means, we’re a 3rd of the way in!!! Of course, for those who like to see the best things in life, we still have 16 to go!!!
Oh I do adore my job!!!
But this is a simple and easy project to make. The Acetate Box.
Acetate and Window sheets can cause problems to some, but you just gotta show it who’s boss. And in this case, I am…!
I visualise these boxes with tissue wrapped gifts inside, and that’s why I went simply for bright and jewel like colours.
But also, like those who love vellum but hate the adhering conundrum that comes with something transparent, I wanted to show you a tip to hide glue!
So my video is a quick bit of fun for you, I hope you enjoy it!

When I’ve seen the pictures of this project I thought you have used a foil paper in metallic colour. But surprise…. it’s not ! These boxes became so elegant and the snowflake detail rise them up more ! Thanks for sharing it with us x
P.S. I was watching this video with our dog sleeping next to me. when he heard Fennel’s voice he raised his head searching for the cat… LoL Have a wonderful and creative weekend x
Oh that’s too funny!!!
Absolutely gorgeous Sam. Just what my daughter needs as a wedding favour box for her winter wedding. I’m going to be busy!
Please let us see some photos!
I love clear lidded boxes!! Yours is a great size too! tfs!
Thanks lovely you!
Sam, you are a GENIUS! I need a box to give my friend some home made chocolates (roasted almonds inside a date dipped in dark chocolate!) and a clear acetate lid is exactly right, no need to hide the contents. I may just line the box with a doyley and I may have to tidy up any chocs that don’t fit in.
Thank you for your timely project.
Wow, they sound divine!!!
Really lovely boxes Sam. Ingenious use of embellishments. Could also use Flowers or butterflies to cover the glue dots.
Absolutely!!!
Gorgeous box Sam. Love the non traditional colours
mwah! thanks Julene xx
Thanks for a very elegant but simple to make box. My grandson and I got a big kick out of Fennel and her crying! hahaha
She’s a noisy thing! Give my love to your grandson too x
Ohhhh, love it Sam! And the fact that you don’t use the “same ole” Christmas colors is awesome! I’m off to play in my craft cave…
I have to be different… that’s the essence of me I think!
I just love your mind. You are an amazing crafter. The box is darling as are all your projects. Thank you for all you do. Your kitty just wanted to say hi. It was great background music to hear the meowing
She’s such a cute thing!!
I love this box Sam! Perfect for chocolates. When my cat hears me talking on the phone she always wants to come sit by me. Maybe Fennel is the same when he hears you talking. <3
Very probably!! Although while I was filming today, she was nowhere to be seen!!
