Pootles Advent Countdown #15 Chocolate Coin Box Tutorial
NOTE!!! Twice last week I managed to miss off the measurements for video projects – Wednesday and Sunday. I’m not really sure where my brain was, but I’ve now added in the measurements on the 2 blog posts themselves if you’d like to take another look. So sorry xx
Are you a fan of chocolate coins at Christmas time? I love them!
I’m not completely sure how the tradition came about in our house, but they sit, buried in the depths of the tree, right through until the tree is taken down at the end of the season. I suspect we probably put them there one year and forgot, but like all traditions, they start from somewhere small and then you can’t change them.
But that doesn’t mean that the boys don’t like to have a coin or two all across Christmas. For us, it’s definitely not a one day deal. We make full use of the whole season and as such, I don’t want to give all the boys a full bag of coins at a time, but rather, I surprise them with a little treat now and again…
Sometimes they come home from school and find a treat at their place on the dining table. Other times I’ll just wander silently into a room where they all are, hand them a treat and then walk back out again, silently. With just the sound of delighted and surprised ‘Thanks Mummy” in my ears.
So my little treat box for you today is super cute. You can get 4 from one sheet of cardstock (perfect for 4BoysMother like me…) and the coins I bought were from Tesco. There were 10 in a bag. 4 of each of the 2 sizes you see here and then 2 tiny ones. They were mine… crafter’s perks and all that!
Have fun making, and I’d love to hear of some of your family traditions!
