Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – First Sight and Birthday Bouquet makes Forever Friends
My Mum and Dad have a bedroom in their house that has the most darling striped pastel wall paper on the lower half. I’ve always loved that room, and it’s the one that my children all sleep in when they go to visit.
I love their house and the styling they have, and it’s wonderfully calming there. So that’s what inspired my card.
I wanted to use stripes and the lovely papers from the Birthday Bouquet dsp pack lend themselves perfectly to this. A sort of watercoloured line (I need to say that Mum’s wallpaper is perfectly straight!) I love how it looks with the border of the sentiment with the flowers underneath.
My card is a sheet of A4 cut in half and scored in half. The panels are set over a piece of whisper white that’s just 1/2cm shorter and narrower. If you prefer to work in Imperial measurements, make yours about 1/4″ shorter and narrower.
With the patterned layers, I went a further 1/2cm narrower, and just eyeballed until I was happy! Nothing scientific here!
But my stamped panel is set at 2.5cm (1″) high so that there was plenty of room for the stamped wording.
Simple to make, but I like to think quite stylish! I wonder if Mum would realise where my inspiration came from…

Love this Sam. I’m a sucker for dsp because they package it in such an appealing way, but sometimes i’m left wondering what else i can do with it other than decorating boxes/bags and stroking it, ha ha! Now i’ll endeavour to be braver and make more cards, thank you, have a great Sunday. X
What a lovely card, we use to have that style of decorating in our bedroom at home. Must see if I can do something similar.
Love it Sam
