Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – A Watercolour Pencil Day at the Beach Plus Tasty Treats
It’s a love affair. Yes, watercolour pencils are my new passion and I can’t see that love ending anytime soon!
I knew that I wanted to use the Day at the Beach stamp set and knew that I wanted to watercolour them. At the time of making the card, I’d just completed a box project that you’ll see in a couple of weeks time (yes, I do work in strange backwards order) and it inspired me to use some of the luscious Tasty Treats paper that I’d used on the box.
So that’s why my pretty watercolour images are backdropped by ice creams! And heck, any day at the beach means ice creams!! I live near the sea, not that I go in it, brrrr, too cold, but whenever we head for a walk along the sea front, particularly with my parents and their labrador Macy, ice creams are purchased. And yes, Macy gets her own too….
The watercolour pencils are so easy to use. I drew a line just round the edges, then used my blender pens to soften them down and ‘pull’ the colour out a bit more.
Easy peasy! If I can do it, anyone can!
