Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Blooms & Wishes in soft soft colours
So there’s something to be said for a simple card. It’s a simplicity of style that I really love to make. Simple images repeated over and over. Simple colours paired together.
Somethings work, some don’t. I tend to work on a ‘hit and hope’ sort of mentality with crafting. There’s very little that I don’t share here with you. In fact, I can’t recall the last time I failed to share one of my projects.
Actually, I fib. I know when it was. It was about a month ago when I decided to see if I could watercolour black ink. You can’t, unless big-mess-on-paper-that’s-quite-ugly is the look you’re after.
So when I start on a project, I have colours in mind. I may have found them by spinning my colour caddy, or perhaps I’ve seen something in nature or when I’m around my boys.
This card colour trio came about by looking at fabric collections on pinterest with the deliberate desire to seek out new colour combinations. If you’re interested, please feel free to have a look at my Colour Combinations pinterest board. All sorts goes on there!
Once I’d decided on my colours of Smoky Slate, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo, I scanned across all my stamp sets to seek out some small flowers and settled upon the oh so versatile Blooms & Wishes.
Such a great set for so many different types of cards, and I love how these small flowers show themselves off to be the star rather than the supporting act to the much bigger and bolder ones.
So I hope you’re seeking inspiration from the colours and world around you. I love it!
