Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles’ Advent Countdown 2017 #1 Advent Calendar/Countdown to Christmas
Yay! It’s the start of this year’s Pootles Advent Countdown for 2017. Hurrah!!! If you’re new to me, then you may be wondering what this involves.
Well…. to me, Advent relates to 24 days leading upto Christmas. I had to be pedantic, but the 12 days of Christmas come after…. (12 days for the 3 kings to make it to the manger!) anyway, that’s by the by… I do 24 themed video projects in the run up to Christmas and share them on here and on my YouTube channel.
Mostly I do 2 a week, but I wanted to start a little earlier this year, so we’re going with 1 a week for the next 4 weeks. It means I can bring Christmas in slowly and gently while still trying to cling on to a hint of summer in the air!
And of course, every year I create an advent calendar and this year I’ve got one that can be both a calendar and a countdown. We tend to do an activity a day in our family rather than open doors and eat chocolate shapes. We do that anyway!! So this is a great calendar to pop details of an activity on the back. But equally, you may want to swap the numbers around and countdown from 24. Either way, it’s a great calendar and I love it.
Since I filmed my video though, I’ve seen various similar versions on Pinterest and they all seem to use the Ikea Tolsby Frame to hang the binder clips on. But if you’re not near an Ikea, this may be an alternative!
Have a great weekend!

Beautiful Fun project…thanks
Awesome project.
Hi from Paso Robles, CA! I am making this project but don’t have a clue as to how to make the base. I scored it like the directions, but what do I do next? Spatially challenged I am. Love your humor and projects.

Hi Sam
A non-crafting friend wanted to make an advent calendar for her grandsons and didn’t want it to be filled with chocolates. Your idea was exactly what she was looking for. she came to visit today and went home with an advent Calendar she had made herself. She is so delighted. I would add a photo so you could see her work but I don’t how to.
Thank you for your ideas, inspiration and clear instructions.
