Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles Craft Tips How to Colour Pizza Boxes
Today I’m sharing a tip. Sort of….
When I originally planned this project, I was going to show you the entirety, but when I came to colour the pizza box, I realised it wasn’t actually as simple as I’d first thought.
I’d had visions of using my sponge roller to get the colour on – I’ve done this before on other projects – but I was not happy with the result. At all!
Then out came the sponges. Nope, not neat enough, although they’d look good on the edges!
Then I had a bash at just swiping the ink pad itself across it. No no! Way too dark!
Then I decided to go with my spritzer and a few drops of reinker. That pooled in the middle, so I grabbed my sponge roller which was still sat on my desk, and hurrah!
I absolutely love the effect and it has given a perfectly even colour across the whole box.
I do question whether the boxes would still be food grade safe using a spritzer, but to be honest, I think once you introduce ink to the box itself, I’d question that anyway. So if you’re planning on putting foodstuffs inside, I’d suggest keeping it white.
But I wanted to share my thoughts and findings with you, and in doing so, I trashed my boxes so you don’t have to.
And do stock up on these, they’re bloomin’ marvellous, but only around until the end of December!
Oh and do you like my stamping? That set is adorable and from The Little Things which is perfect to pair with the pizza boxes!
