Pootles Advent Countdown 2017 #15 Merry Music Table Bag Tutorial
Hands up, who else has a Christmas dinner table that’s groaning under the weight of food, cutlery, plates, crackers, glasswear and more? I’m pretty sure it’s not just me and my Mum (one day I will beat her record of 16 different vegetables…).
However, we do like to add a little extra treat onto our table in our family. We have our big main dinner on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas Day, and it’s a lovely festive atmosphere. The children (particularly the smaller ones) aren’t clamouring to eat as fast as possible and leave the table to get back to presents, and instead it’s a really lovely long event where we enjoy one another’s company and don’t then squabble over who gets to wash up and who gets to sit in front of the big Christmas Day movie. It’s just so much more relaxed.
And because it’s the day before, our festivities really start at that point, so we pop a little treat onto the table for each guest. In the past we’ve had national lotto tickets, little chocolates, wind up racing cars for the boys. All sorts of funny little silly bits that just make you smile.
But…. going back to the overflowing table, you kinda need a small something on there. Step forward this year’s table bag idea!
It’s a slim bag at just 1 x 3″ on the base and 4.5″ tall (that’s 2.5 x 7.5cm on the base and 11.5cm tall) so won’t take up much room, in fact it would tuck in nicely next to a wine glass or tumbler!
I kept the colours to black and white, those are great on any table, then added pops of colour with Melon Mambo on one and Bermuda Bay on the other. But of course, you could match your colours to your table cloth or crackers or napkins. Anything goes at Christmas in my book!
So I love the Merry Music paper, it worked perfectly for this, then the Mini Tinsel Trim just added an extra little shimmer.
Have a super week everyone!
