Stampin’ Up! #1 Demonstrator Pootles – Easy Fold Flat Ribbon Close Box Tutorial
Oh this is just a darling little box! As you all know, I’m totally addicted to the Sweet Soiree Suite, and in particular the Embellishment Kit. You know, out of all the projects that I’ve shown using it, I’ve still got loads of it left! I can’t think how many projects that’s been using just one kit (and there are more to come that are waiting to be filmed), but talk about the kit that keeps on giving!
But this box is just adorable. Finishing up at 3 x 3 x 1.5″ (7.5 x 7.5 x 4cm) its one of those fab boxes that works well for treats and gifts, soaps and little luxuries and so much more. And that it folds totally flat for storage, even with or without the decorations, that makes it a total winner.
Imagine if you’re a soap maker and you need an array of boxes on hand ready for soaps and then you can leave the final decoration to the last moment, perfect to match with the fragrance of the soap inside…. Yes, that’s a winner right there too!
I like to make pretty boxes that have both form and function and this quirky little closure with the overlapping lip and pretty ribbon is a lovely variant on other similar projects I’ve made before. I do hope you like it!

Thank you for another lovely box!
Such a pretty project and such a unique closure. I love it.
Love the box! On bow tying…once you do the first step, if you want your bow to go horizontally, you ribbon ends need to go up and down vertically. Make your loops and tie. If the ends were up and down your loops will go horizontally. if you want your bow to go the opposite direction, your ends go horizontally and then loop. Easy peasy! Check out fellow US demonstrator Francis Martin-she shows and explains this quite well in any video project she has a bow in! I, too, have lots of cat scratches. Was working on my husband’s Valentine and my senior cat decided he wanted in my lap. Before I realized it he jumped but also slipped and “velcroed” into my breasts! Ouch! Have a great day and thanks for all your awesome projects and videos! Love seeing your feline assistants!
YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Love this little box.
