Stampin’ Up! #1 Demonstrator Pootles – Southern Serenade with Watercolour Pencils and Layers of Stamping
Happy Sunday everyone. Are you well? Have you had a good weekend? I have a spot of crafting planned into my day today, but I wanted to share a soft and gentle card with you.
The Southern Serenade stamp set is one that immediately jumped out at me from the Spring catalogue, but it’s taken me until now to get around to using it. That’s so bad isn’t it….
It was the lacy stamp that actually caught my eye, though ironically you’d never know it was lace on my card shown here… oops!
But it does make a nice soft backdrop to those pretty blue flowers. I’ve absolutely no idea what flowers they are (you know how horticulturally challenged I am), but they felt blue to me, so blue it was….
I used the watercolour pencils on them and the stalk of the flowers and it worked out pretty well. And while the card blank and ribbon (free Sale a bration ribbon, yay!) are Basic Grey and that’s what I stamped the flower with, I decided to use Smoky Slate for the lace, and it’s actually been stamped off first to get an even paler shade. Just right!
So what am I making today? At this hour of the morning I’ve no idea. I just plan to grab some stamps off my shelves and paper from my racks and I’ll see where it takes me…!
S xx
