Stampin’ Up! #1 Demonstrator Pootles – Beautiful You White Washed and Coloured
How cute is this card?
I love the Beautiful You stamp set and haven’t used it for a while, so i recently got it out and had a play.
I really like how she’s the star of her own show and needs little else on the card to make a statement, and rather than stamping her on white and colouring her in that way, I decided to do a whitewash technique. I’ve no idea if it’s officially called that, but this is what I call it!
I stamped her in Black Memento ink first onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then coloured her in using my Chalk Marker. I left that to properly dry off for a few minutes while I wrapped the Linen thread and layered her up on some Basic Black cardstock.
Once it was dry, I pulled out my blender pens and a couple of ink pads. I decided she needed a lovely pink umbrella, so I used Rose Red for that and had it fade a little to one side. Her dress is Marina Mist with matching shoes. I finished with a little Crumb Cake on her legs and some Chocolate Chip in her hair.
It’s such a clever technique and it works with any colour you can pick up as ink and add over the top of chalk marker colouring.
Have a go! You’ll love it!
