Stampin’ Up! #1 Demonstrator Pootles – Happy Mother’s Day with Amazing You and Fresh Fig & Glitter!
Happy Mother’s Day!
OK, super quickly before I get a whole bunch of emails and comments from people outside of the UK, we celebrate Mother’s Day here on the 4th Sunday in Lent, which is exactly 3 weeks before Easter Sunday. It’s linked to Easter over here, rather than Mums, but that’s a whole other blog post! But I wanted to put it out there that yes, we Brits celebrate on a totally different date!
Anyway, today I have a card that’s just perfect for Mums, Mothers, Mamas, Moms and every other word we have for those wonderful women out there who have been and continue to be part of who we are.
My own Mum is amazing – she’s a huge supporter of me as a Mum myself and taught my most of what I know. She and Dad are the first to champion and cheer for me in my business, the first to stand beside me when I take on a truculent teenage son and the first to give me a metaphorical smack up the back of the head if I’m being a droopy lil…..
So yes, my Mum is Amazing!
This isn’t the actual card I’m giving her, I don’t get to see her until Tuesday unfortunately, but this card does speak from the heart, and I hope she likes the virtual version I’m sharing today!
I went for Fresh Fig, just because it’s a gorgeous colour, but then when I was stamping all over my piece of card, I found that it does stamping-off (where you keep stamping the same image without reinking) absolutely beautifully.
Finishing it off with some glitter, I initially went with just small blobs of glue in the centre of the flowers, but then decided to risk an experiment…..
I blobbed some Tombow glue quite thickly onto one of the flowers. Immediately the ink started to bleed out a little and I loved the effect, but I wanted to see what would happen if I put Dazzling Diamonds over the top. Well I’m pleased to say that I was left with a 3D effect of glitter over a nicely watercoloury (that’s so a word…) flower.
What a finish to a rather lovely card!
So to all the Mother’s out there, have a wonderful day. And for those of you who are missing your Mothers who are perhaps watching you from a special place, you’re in our hearts too.
