I love free. Don’t you? OK so that’s kind of a rhetorical question, we all love free…..!

Today’s card is as much ‘free’ and ‘non consumable’ as possible.

I have free Designer Paper with the new Springtime Foils and I have a free die cut phrase with the Celebrate You thinlits. Both are available with the current Sale a Bration promotion – spend £45 and choose a level 1 gift or spend £90 and choose either 2 level 1 gifts or 1 super cool level 2 gift. So you spend, get free stuff. What’s not to love!

The Springtime Foils paper is so much thicker than regular paper though, it’s sturdy and I have literally just cut and scored and folded a piece to make my card. No extra card blank needed!

I had a play with my Stampin’ Blends in the 2 shades of Cherry Cobbler and I adore the effect. The paper isn’t absorbent, so the ink just sort of pools in an area – you can see it on the close up on the Old Olive leaves – and gives such a great effect. Makes the leaves and petals of the flowers look that little bit more realistic.

I did need to leave them to dry though, so I decided to die cut my words in Gold Foil and then coloured one of them in Cherry Cobbler too. With hindsight I may have placed the word over the paler Cherry Cobbler flowers, or rather, I’d have considered the placement of my words before choosing my colours for each flower and the darkness of them, but I still love how it looks.
