Stampin’ Up! #1 Demonstrator Pootles – Whole Lot of Lovely Huge Parisian Bag. Ish….
OK so I will totally admit that this bag doesn’t look particularly French at all, but there is a very good reason for the title.
A few weeks ago, I was invited by one of my French team members to join her and her team in Paris for the weekend. We were actually in a tiny little village called Avernes and it was stunning. But I flew in and out of Paris, so I’m working with that as a title.
I didn’t actually make this bag that I’m sharing in the video, BUT I made a version of it that closed a little differently and I show you how to do that in the video.
I had to be careful with how much luggage I carried, I wanted to just have a cabin bag, so I decided to take the Fresh Florals DSP pack with me and the Lots of Love stamp set, along with a bunch of matching ribbons. Sophie (my leader out there) brought the relevant inks and blocks for us, and we had a lot of fun!
But this project is created in exactly the same way, but instead of closing it around the top, it has handles. Super cute!
I hope you have a go, do practice first. With 2 pieces of paper with very similar score lines, it’s possible to go wrong. Our ladies in France all got it right, but there were a few twists and turns of the paper before confidently snipping pieces away!
S x
Remember you need 2 pieces of paper and you cut and score both exactly the same way.
DSP – 12 x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5cm)
Score on the FIRST side at 3, 11″ (7.5, 28cm)
Score on the SECOND side at 3, 10″ (7.5, 25cm)
Black panel – 4-1/4 x 4-1/4″ (10.5 x 10.5cm)
Whisper White panel – 4 x 4″ (10 x 10cm)
FINISHED DIMENSIONS – 3 x 8 x 7″ (7.5 x 20.5 x 17.5cm)

Very amazing project. And ohhhh I’m not so far from Avernes, I would have been so happy to meet you !
Have a good day
Wow Sam, another amazing project with so many uses. Love the way it changes depending on how you close it and I’m so loving that paper. Think I will use this project next Christmas, as these type of bags cost so much if you have lots to buy for. Thank you for all your inspiration. Crafty hugs
Sam – that bag is absolutely gorgeous! I do love how you create in real time without editing, as it shows how the creative process truly takes place. I must say that you certainly do have quite an eye for colors, card and project designs, and even your placement of images etc always stuns me. You’re quite a talented lady! I personally prefer the handles on a gift bag, as I can fit more items into it. Is there any chance you might give us a peak into your new crafting space since your move, or did you already do that and I missed it? The ways that you have things at hand and stored are so sensible to me, and I have incorporated many ideas from your previous room tour and just love them.
Hugs and love from California!
Absolutely wonderful project!

Marvelous bag! I’m so happy you are willing to show us all the little parts we need to know exactly to put the project together. It’s a very lovely bag and I can see lots of uses for it. Have a marvelous weekend!
Love it. I really love when you do bigger bags, so great for somewhat larger gifts. Thanks for another fabulous video and project.
Hi Sam. Wonderful bag – have rushed in and made my first one so my grandchildren can gather their Easter Eggs in it. Thank you so much. You nearly always come to my rescue just in time. Celia in Australia
