#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – 1,000th Video! Craft Room Tour
1,000 videos. I can’t quite believe it really. It’s just a week or so over 5 years since I released my very first video, and this is 3 videos a week, every week and then the occasional boosted week or fortnight where I go back-to-back-to-back with extras.
But a thousand videos is quite the milestone, so I am pulling out a few stats for you.
That’s approximately 15,000 minutes of videos, 250 hours, 10.4 full days, back to back!
At the time of writing (last Saturday afternoon) there have been 12,691,014 video views!!! Just under 55 million minutes of watch time! That’s almost 105 years worth of time people have enjoyed watching my videos! Insane number there!
So from the very bottom of my heart, an enormous thank you to everyone of you who’ve watched, liked, shared and subscribed.
I did spend some time pondering what to share for such a milestone, and then decided that as I hadn’t shown you a proper look around my office, this would be perfect.
I am very fortunate to work from home and this is my full time job, so yes, other than the lounge and kitchen, I do have the largest room in the house as my work area. It measures in at 16ft 2″ by 15ft 5″ (4.95 x 4.7m) so yes, it is a large space. However I’m blessed with sloping ceilings on the 2 main walls, so that was a lot of fun to try and work around…
The entire office is ikea, the desks take up around 12.2m of space, but they’re worked into corners and U shapes to maximise floor space.
I went for Alex/Linmon for my desktops and drawers, going mostly for 60cm x 120cm, though my craft desk is 200cm and my photo studio is sat on a 75 x 150cm desk.
The shelves behind my office area are all Billy and ask you can see, they are set to follow the slope of my ceiling. Talk about filling space perfectly! From left to right they are 80x28x202 cm, 40 x 28 x 202cm , 80x28x106 cm with a 80x28x35 cm extension sitting on top of it and then a further 40x28x35 cm extension on top of that!
I do use Besta on my craft desk as a sort of ‘divider’ from the rainbow zone. Mine are 60 x 20 x 38cm which are actually a perfect size for our stamp sets too!
I forgot to share that my paper racks are sitting on top of a white Besta TV bench with shelving added 180x40x38 cm is the one I have.
The storage cupboards behind Chris’s Charles Eames chair are Galant 80×120 cm soft closure and are fabulous
Finally, I have Kallax cubes as 2 x 4 with a 1 x 4 sitting on top and then a 1 x 4 standing on it’s end. They have Ekat (dark grey) boxes in and some cheap rainbow ones I found on Amazon!
In my Billy shelves I have Kuggis solid plastic boxes in the 3 smallest sizes (the biggest was way too huge!) and Kvissle metal magazine holders which is the same range as where I keep my Whisper White and tutorial notes.
I have fairy lights all over the room and LED lightstrip lighting (I have 2 10m lengths that go all the way around the shape of my step storage Billy units, under all my desks etc). My ball lights are all from Cable and Cotton and I chose to make my own colour combinations. Love them!
Finally, I have a range of clear acrylic storage boxes under my paper racks, they’re all made by InterDesign and I picked mine up at TK Maxx in the UK, though you can find them on Amazon. I also store my Framelits in one aswell. Oh and the acrylic shelving on my window sill and for my Work In Progress projects are all from Boxalls on Amazon.
I think that’s it!
So I hope you find it useful, while I do have a big room, I was as budget friendly as I could be. My paper racks were from eBay and cost me £25 each rather than the £150+ you’d pay for one brand new. My stamp sets are in DVD racks that my son found on a car boot sale for 50pence each! I did consider having a full Galant office, but that was a luxury too expensive for this frugal girl, so Billy and Linnmon it was!
If you’re curious, I do have a craft room tour from when I hit my 100th video HERE that you can see. This was October 2013 when I still shared my room with a bunch of small boys…
So again, thank you So So much for being on my journey with me. Who knows where it will take me!
S xx
