#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – A Subtle Rainbow of Varied Vases
Amazing Alaska Giftaway Details Below!
Today I give you a rainbow.
But not just any rainbow….
One in vases and in soft subtle colours!
There is a good reason for this card simply having vases on it. In my kitchen, I have very pale cloud grey paint on a couple of walls and then a slightly darker grey for my furniture – table, sideboards, book case etc. Then a very deep grey for my sofa. This can seem quite bland and boring, but I accessorise with colours and change them throughout the year.
As I type this, I currently have Greens in there, so I have a large green yankee candle, a jug with green striped paper straws on it, a planter in green, some little tealights scattered around that are all green. I have a collection of faux calla lillies (my favourites) in various shades that come out too.. And finally, a green vase. Oh and the sofa has cushions in shades of green on it too.
And throughout the year, I just change to what I fancy depending on the season. We had dark purple over Christmas, then deep red once the Christmas tree had come down. It’s been yellow as well!
Here’s a few pictures of one of the sets of shelves to give you an idea. I use all the windowsills and the table too to dot accessories on. And it’s so cheap to change, literally it’s a handful of accessories and the whole room looks so different!
And as I’m always on the hunt for vases in thrift shops and charity shops, in lots of colours to put away and bring out when I change up my kitchen, this card came to mind.
Gosh that was a long winded way around giving a reason for my vases-no-flowers card, but I got there!
Do you like it?
Anyone else go frugal over changing their decorations?
I may bring back the bright yellow over the summer. Not sure… I’ve had green for a couple of months now…!

Love the attention and originality you put into making your home “homey” – though i did note that you draw the line at making your sons dress according to the color-de-jour, allowing red sweaters during the yellow phase! I guess there are limits to the matchy-matchy theory of decorating. Thank you for sharing – and I love the card, also.
Aha they were in their school uniforms then, hence their matching jumpers!!
Love the card ,Yes I do change small things for something different , Always changing. cushions ,love your style.Hope the trip going well Xx
Cute card. Love the pictures. I mostly just change for the holidays. Love your idea though. I do have two shelves in my living room that I have pictures on and a couple of accessories, I could change them out, and should for different looks. Thanks for the inspiration.
