#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Cardstock Scraps Storage Solution
OK, so today I have a totally different type of video for you. No tutorial, but hopefully what will be a really good storage solution for you.
We crafters endlessly ponder the ‘best’ way to store cardstock, and once we have that solved, then comes the debate over how to store ‘scraps’ and small pieces of cardstock.
I’ve used some tall storage racks specifically for paper and cardstock for a long time, but in days gone by, I used A4 concertina/expanding folders with one for each colour collection, meaning that I could just pick up whichever folder I needed for the cardstock, but with my new storage I’d kept my scraps with the full sheets of cardstock and worked like that for a couple of years.
But…. in June, we brought back not just 12×12″ cardstock in all the colours but also the matching DSP papers too. That meant that I couldn’t store my scraps as I had before (it was full sheets on one shelf and scraps on the shelf above). So I had a bit of a ponder about what would work but not take up much space and I decided to think back to what I used to do when I had a small area of a small room that I shared with my children and their toys.
Mini Concertina folders!
I went on the hunt on Amazon to see if I could find any that were A5 in size, but though there were some of a similar size, there weren’t any that were specifically A5. Fast forward past much tooing and froing with rulers and scribblings of numbers, I found a set of folders that would comfortably hold cardstock of A5 size scored to make a standard C6 card, and also a little wider.
Link is HERE for you for the ones I bought.
I show more in the video and explain more, but this solution has been working for me for quite a few months now and I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner!

Thanks for this very good idea !
Great idea. In the Netherlands you can buy these for about € 1,00 in a shop called Action. I store my A4 and scraps per Color in A4 envelope clear plastic bag with a snap-fastener.from that same shop. ( ca € 0,29 each) .
They are thin, clear, so a good view of whats inside and a lot together fits in a A4 magazine holder.
I just have a question Do you find that having your Black cardstock by the window that it fades? I learned the hard way with all my papers and was wondering how you were able to keep it from fading? Thanks so much Sam!
Thanks for sharing this with us. I have a 2 drawer file cabinet in my craft room and use files in that to store my scraps. A file for each color family. I have a lot of patterned papers, so sometimes it gets a little mixed up, but it works pretty well anyway.
