#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Alaska Incentive Trip Gifts
So yesterday I shared a video with you of all the amazing swaps I received on the Incentive Trip and today I’m sharing a video of all the other goodies and gifts that I received. I hadn’t realised I’d nattered on for almost half an hour, but I hope it is worth it!
I also wanted to share some photos from the amazing trip.
I took Mum and Dad with me this time – Chris and I decided it was too far for us to be away from our 4 sons, the youngest 2 are still quite young at just 7 and 9, but it was equally too expensive to take them with us. Chris is such a star, he has no problem with hanging out at home with the boys while I go and do my work travelling.
But it was incredibly emotional for me to have Mum and Dad with me. To almost reverse our roles, with me being the person who provided the trip, and for them to experience the incredible beauty that is Alaska. Who on earth would think they’d take their parents on the trip of a lifetime and see glaciers and orcas and humpback whales? It’s not a bucket list holiday for us, Alaska just isn’t a destination we’d ever thought of, or considered a possibility, so it was amazing to take them.
A huge thank you to the other UK demos who took to calling my parents ‘Sam’s Mum and Dad’ or simply ‘Mum and Dad’! It was the sweetest thing. And also a shout out to Sara Douglass and Rich Jutkins from the corporate team, who specifically wanted to meet my parents. Made them feel as special as it did for me!
So aside from the amazing gifts we received, I’m sharing a whole dollop of photos!
We flew in 2 days early to enjoy and experience a little of Seattle first, and then on our 7 night cruise, we explored Juneau and whale watching and glaciers, Skagway for the amazing White Pass Railway (built for the Klondike Gold Rush and now an incredible tourist experience). A whole morning cruising the Endicott Arm, to visit the Dawes Glacier, where the captain of the ship turned us a full 360, over and over again so everyone had a great view of the incredible glacier, and then finally a day in Victoria Canada where we had a picnic in the sunshine in Butchart Gardens.
We had packed lots of different clothes to combat the unpredictable weather, but we expected it to be cold. Until the day sailing to the glacier, I’d felt most conned! We’d gone to Juneau in t-shirts, same with Skagway, and we only needed jackets on the boat if it was windy! But that morning, 5.15am I was on deck, oh my, I needed the jacket, the gloves, the bobble hat, the blanket….
I was also very kindly invited to join Sara Douglass and her husband Sean for dinner one evening, and brought Dad along with me. It was a really great evening just chatting about all sorts of things!
However, as evenings go, the fog horn that went off every 2 minutes, all night long, for the last 3 nights left a lot to be desired. However, in one of the photos, you’ll see that it was so foggy, we lost the top of the boat!!!
So I hope you enjoy the video and a look at my photos, and hopefully it may help inspire you to aim for an incentive trip. On October 1st, we start working towards the next incentive trip, a full 12 months we have to earn it, and it’s going to be….. Maui in Hawaii!!!!! Oh my!
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

It’s absolutely lovely to see your cat in the video! Thanks for including this personal touch rather than locking him out of your craft room. My upline in Oregon, was also on the incentive trip and shared her goodies with us locally. But it’s fun to hear your voice and your description of the trip as well. Thanks again!
Lovely lots off gifts ,sounds like you had a wonderful time, thanks for showing us .Happy Sunday Xx
I love animals but they have time and place……in a video is not the time and place when you are trying to show us what presents you got from Stamping up
I wish I could have filmed without the kittens, but I have 4 small sons on school holiday, so I had to grab a small pocket of time when they were out of the house. Kind of the lesser of 2 issues – noisy children or inquisitive kittens. I went with the less noisy option!
WOW! What nice stuff you received. Your cat is beautiful, love his coat. The flag you received is actually our American flag. The stars represent the fifty states and the 13 stripes represent the first 13 colonies. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing! This was the best compilation of photos I’ve seen, and I loved each one! What a glorious and well-earned trip you had! Congratulations! Live On!!! 🙂
Love Love Love this video my favorite was the beautiful inquisitive Bengal Kitten!!!! I miss my Bengal kitten who passed away.
So amazing that you earn these fabulous trips. Congrats! Thanks for sharing your goodies with us. So nice to see them all and how wonderful y’all are treated.
Thanks for sharing all your lovely gifts and BEAUTIFUL pictures! Very sweet of you, too, to take your parents along on the trip! Such a special event for you and them.
