#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Spirited Snowmen Shimmer Painted Customer Thank You Cards
I had so much fun making this month’s customer thank you cards, despite a bit of a (major) blip at the final stage. Somehow I managed to order the wrong size notecards and envelopes and it wasn’t until I was part way through sticking the DSP on that I realised. I’d been wondering why it didn’t look quite right and then the lightbulb went on in my head…. Yeah, I did that!
I also hadn’t factored in how long it would take to complete each element.
When I’m designing my thank you cards each month, I always put one together first to decided if I like it or not. And then I start building up the elements – cutting the paper, cutting the cardstock that is to be stamped etc.
Well I did all of that, as normal. And then it came to colouring in each element…
As you can see from this photo where I’ve dulled the brightness down, there are a lot of elements to every stamped area – the stamping, the shimmer paint. Then using blends to put the buttons back on and the carrot nose. Then I coloured all the hats, scarves and boots in Real Red and finally coloured up the arms and legs.
I would definitely recommend planning far ahead if you’re going to make 200 of these as I did… I did not plan this one and the timing quite right!
On the upside though, I did watch a lot of TV box sets while doing each part!
I brought in outside help for the very final part though! Mum and Dad came to visit for a midweek break and one evening I had Mum putting dimensionals onto the back of the snowman panels and another night Jack put on all the rhinestones for me. 3 on each! That’s 600 individual ones!
He tells me that I put a sneaky one onto one individual snowman’s hat in place of the bobble. If that’s yours, shout out please!
However despite me not considering the time factor and the mess up of the note card ordering, I’m really pleased with how they all came out. And even though I’ve painted 200 snowmen, you’d never know from my bottle of shimmer paint. That stuff goes a long way! I worked out I could paint 12 snowmen just from what sits in the lid after giving the bottle a good shake… less is definitely more!
Have a lovely weekend!

Postie arrived with a little surprise from you, thankyou so much, always appreciated. Thinks, I must buy that shimmer paint sometime soon. I have a rhinestone on the bobble of my snowman’s hat, wow. You should call your family ‘Team Pootles’ or Sams little helpers as they all have their little jobs to do and do it well. Appreciated. xx
Does the shimmer paint work like the Wink of Stella brush?
Jen
So sweet, lucky to have all the helpers, bring the family together to have fun. Great job.
