#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Pootles Advent Countdown 2018 #6 No Glue, No Cut Box Tutorial
It’s Friday! And we are now at number 6 in the Advent Countdown which means we are a quarter of the way in. Eeeeesh it’s going too fast!
Well today’s project is an accidental discovery. This paper pattern that I’m showing isn’t one I’m overly keen on personally, so when I’m designing projects, I always use our paper (to make sure the fold and build is the same) and pull out a paper I don’t really like. However, sometimes, like today, the paper works and the project works first time.
I didn’t have anything in my head when I first started folding, I just started bending the paper this way and that, and looking to see what would happen.
I love the result though. It’s actually a really sturdy box and so clever.
My husband Chris is sat in the office with me as I type this blog post (he’s bringing me coffee and making dinner today!) and I’ve just unfolded the box to show him. He’s said I can quote him “you surprise me every day, in a good way!” I take that as high praise indeed!
And although the paper isn’t my favourite, I actually rather like the end result. The ribbon is lovely and then add in a little stamping and those gorgeous Festive Farmhouse Elements, job done! Pretty and traditional, with a modern twist.
Have a lovely Friday and definitely have a go at making one of these too.

Your husband says it for all of us. Love this box Sam.
Hi Sam l like the box and you are right it is an origami box but what would be the inner walls of the box that normally fold inward to hold the box together by trapping the corner flaps you have used as the lid. Great idea. l knock up that little box from a bit of printer paper when l need a little pot p.d.q. I’d never thought of using the sides as a lid. Brilliant
It’s a fantastic box! Not sure how you think up these things, but so glad you do and then share them with us! And, how sweet of your husband to bring you coffee, fix dinner and then tell you such amazing things about what you make!
Love this box ,will have a go ,Just back from hols to find gift card an DSP lovely Sam thank-you very much.Looking forward to getting back in my craft room.Xx
Wow! Awesome. Simply brilliant.
Perfect for my glycerine soaps I made for present.
Very nice box. I don’t know how you come up with them, but I love them 🙂
Love this, I worked one up with scrap paper as I watched you stamping. Really very easy to make, but folding it into a box the first time is a little touchy, but I got it. Thanks for this wonderful project and video.
