#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Botanical Butterfly Wax Melts Bag Decorated with Blends
Oh I am so addicted to the Botanical Butterfly paper and I can’t stop using it!
I wanted to create a pretty bag to show off these gorgeous Wax Melts that I bought from my friend Lucy of Lubylu Designs, and decided that butterflies were the way to go, allowing the background colour match the fragrance (Sherbet Lemon!), and though I used my Stampin’ Write Markers for the first one, you have to listen to the video to hear my utter delight at working with Blends in colours I chose rather than the usual pairs.
I think I got a little stuck in my ways and couldn’t not use them a ‘light and dark’, but my eldest son Jack, who now has his own set, ready for his A-Level art, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of Blends and I am sooooo going to persuade him to do a video for you of his colouing and blends activity.
And while my bag is designed for Lucy’s wax melts, it’s a lovely size when finished so you can use it for all sorts of things.
Now, go and Blend some butterflies, and let’s hear your peals of delight too!

Gorgeous coloring (or colouring since you’re in the UK), Sam! But you forgot to give your butterflies their bodies! That makes such a difference. Do try it. Stamp and punch, then stamp the bodies or you’ll never get them right (I know this; don’t ask how).
Oops haha thankyou! x
Love it. You make it look so easy. I would love to see a video on blending if you son will agree to do one.
Yes i am certain he would love to do one! x
Thank you so much! x
Love the colors you used and the bag is a good size. Thanks for sharing!
Thankyou so so much! x
Very pretty butterflies! I, too, and hung up on the names of the Blends and want the matched set when I color. You have inspired me to go out of my comfort zone. And, I would love to see a video of your talented son Jack using Blends. I’ve learned so much already of watching other talented people using Blends and always want to be better at it. Thanks so much for your fun videos!
Very pretty! I love this style of bag, like a little clutch bag. Thanks for another fun project.
