#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – The Sweetest Thing Tent Box Tutorial
Ah, the adorable ‘Tent Box’ that I first designed back in 2015.
I wanted a way to show off beautiful DSP but on a more frugal scale, so I came up with a way to make a box with a sliding cover.
The paper that I used back then was a very rustic outdoorsy type of paper, and at the time Chris and the boys were doing a lot of camping, hence the shape and the created name Tent Box!
And that has spawned so many variations – big ones, small ones, tall ones, fat ones. And everything in between.
But mine, well mine is all about showcasing the amazing Sweetest Thing paper and stamps and suite. I just love it, and while I haven’t got anything in mine for the video, right after I filmed it, I went over to Paris to join some of my French team for the weekend, so I popped a pretty wax melt into one (one of LubyLu’s!) and took it with me.
Obviously a sweetie fragrance inside….
And so my tent uses a full sheet of cardstock (well, PootlesSize!) which is maximum cardstock, minimum DSP but with maximum wow factor!
Have a fabulous day, and if you’re making a tent too, let me see!
S xx
Cardstock – 8 x 11″ (28 x 20cm)
Score on the LONG side at 4.5, 6.5″ (11.5, 16.5cm) and MARK at 5.5″ (14cm) on both sides
Score on the SHORT side at 2, 6″ (5, 15cm)
PART Score on the SHORT side at 1, 7″ (2.5, 17.5cm)
DSP – 4 x 12″ (30.5 x 10cm)

Love the tent box and the DSP. Thank you for sharing. Was that thunder in the bakground?
Possibly i don’t really remember! x
I think this one’s the cutest you’ve made in quite some time! Thanks so much for the tutorial. I can’t wait to try it — maybe for Easter goodies for the grandkids. Oh, there’s a little typo in the body. You say you don’t have a video in “mine” instead of mind. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful design with us. I see why you’re top in sales! Have a great week!
Thank you i didn’t see that! x
Very cute box, love it.
Is it me or was there a measurement error?
PART score on the short side at 1”, 5” ..?
should it be 1” and 7”
tried it twice and could not get it right, third time used 7” and it has worked, hallelujah.
Don’t know how I’ve not seen this style of bag before. I love it! What a great way to keep it closed and have it nicely embellished. Thanks for sharing this.
