#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Country Floral Tuck-In Pretty Box Tutorial
I have a funny story behind today’s box…
When I was out in France recently with some of my French team, we stayed in a Gite and all the food was created and prepared and served by the demos who were there. That included bringing every condiment known to man, including butter.
Now, as a Brit, I’m used to salted butter and they had very kindly brought some along for me. It was popped onto the dining table simply in its packet and I happily opened it. I was curious that it was a foil wrapped block of butter (the spotty parts) with a further cardboard sleeve around the main part of it, though there were cut outs in sections.
Absent mindedly, I started fiddling with this cardboard sleeve, bending it in various directions to see what would happen. Slowly, my end of the table grew quiet and I looked up to see about 10 of the ladies watching me, with mouths open, as I was fiddling with this piece of card and seeing what shapes it would make!
Well, I did bring that wrapper home (though I managed to tidy it carefully away into the bin (oops!) however, I held the shape in my head and this is what came about.
Absolutely nothing like the shape of the cardboard wrapper of the Sel De Mer butter, but born out of the shapes I was bending and creating!
I love the shape of the box when it’s fully closed and adore the fun closure of it. The ribbon is there simply as a tab to open and close it, the construction of the box holds it all together.
And I didn’t want to take away from the shape, so I decided to use the Country Floral Embossing Folder in the same colour cardstock to add detail.
Lovely and charming, and such a pretty close!
Oh and watch out for Friday’s video where I supersize my box…!

I loved the back story. I would have been watching you too. Love seeing “creative genius” at work. I have none of it myself but can totally appreciate it in others. And you share so generously. Will be making this one soon. Can’t wait for the bigger version. I also loved the use of the EF rather than DP for a change.
Thank you so much! xx
Beautiful box Sam. I don’t know how you come up with these ideas, but I’m glad you do 🙂

Oh this is quite fabulous! I can’t wait to make one of these, don’t have a use for it right now, but I’ll find a way to use it. LOL I’m glad I’m not the only one that looks at things and tries to figure out how to make them. Great job, wonderful project, fabulous video. Thanks!
Thank you so much! xx
Thank you Sam for the box of the day which brought back good memories with you, and in particular our silence in front of your creative moment.
For the anecdote, I also eat this salted butter, and I am also used to fishing clams in Noirmoutier during my holidays.
I couldn’t help but think of you at the next opportunity, even if I would have trouble keeping my fishing in the little box. Maybe in Friday’s?
Ingenious – fantastic – I will be impressing my stamping friends with this box.
Thank you so much! xx
