#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Life is Grand when you Share What You Love
Happy Sunday everyone!
I’m excited to share today’s card with you! I’m pairing the oh-so beautiful Share What You Love DSP with the amazing Life Is Grand stamp set from the Spring Summer Catalogue, specifically the Hello, Dear Friend statement.
I chose these 2 products because I wanted to talk about being a demo with you all.
I’m coming up on my 6th anniversary right at the end of this month, so yes, I was a Sale a Bration joiner, taking advantage of a similar offer to the one we currently have, and at that time, I simply wanted to enjoy a discount (I’m nothing if not a bargain hunter)
But you all know my story by now – videos, blogging and sharing what I love (hence the paper pack!).
I love what I do, and I couldn’t imagine not being a demo, despite being 39 when I joined (I also celebrate my birthday this month in case you’re doing maths!) and a very busy woman too. With 4 young sons, our eldest was just 10 and our youngest wasn’t even 2 years old. Plus Chris working shifts, which he still does.
It was a busy life, yet I found time to indulge myself in my crafting hobby – the ultimate relaxation and paper therapy! And it was an evolution of changing my hobby into my job that took perhaps a year or so, but one that evolved as my life changed.
It was another year and a half before Oliver went part time to school, and even now, he’s only been at school full time for the last 3.5 years, so my life is still very busy with running them to and from school, clubs, parties and more. Plus, fitting that all around Chris’s shifts too.
But one of the fundamental things about being a demo is that crafting IS my hobby, one that I love, and I suspect you do too. And I made it work for me. The other side of my ‘job’ as a demo – writing blog posts, filming, photography, working with my team etc – they’re what I refer to as my ‘day job’ and as such, I work those into my diary, leaving space for the hobby part and also (most importantly!) I allow time to spend with Chris where we are just the 2 of us, and also time with the children.
And part of the evolution of my hobby becoming my full time job has been welcoming hundreds and hundreds of demos into the business (at the time of writing, well over 520 personal recruits) and it’s a privilege to have them in my team, sharing what we all love, and making new friends along the way.
We get together 3 or 4 times a year in person (this was us a few months ago celebrating SU’s 30th anniversary!), and every other week via Facebook Live into a team group, as well as all day every day in our group too!
Being with my team is so much fun and so inspiring. We all have a different story to tell and a different path on our journey, but we are united by our common bond of paper crafting and Stampin’ Up!
So I would love it if you too would consider being part of our team – we are in all 5 of the European countries – the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, France and Austria – and we don’t let geography stand in our way!
#PootlerRock!
Have a super Sunday everyone, and I do hope you join me soon!
