Pop of Petals, Four Petal Punch, Soft Blues

#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Pop of Petals, Four Petal Punch, Soft Blues

One of the things that drew me to Stampin’ Up! was the coordination that they do so very well. I don’t just mean the colour coordinating, but the stamps too. Some pair with punches, others pair with dies. More coordinate with paper and ribbons and trim, and some mix the whole lot up together!

When I was a new demo 6 years ago, I fell in love with stamping. I’d never been a stamper before, I used punches and patterned papers only. So having stamps that had matching punches meant that I didn’t have to line things up perfectly, I could just stamp, punch, glue!

And so today, I went back to my roots of stamping and punching with the Pop of Petals stamp set and matching Four Petal punch.

My crafting has evolved over the last 6 years, I love to experiment with looks and techniques, and 2 of my favourites are to create my own backgrounds with ‘random stamping’ and using Wink of Stella to bleed stamped images around and get soft toning looks.

And well, you can see both on this card!

I did stamp one flower in Balmy Blue, but felt that the colour bleeding didn’t stand out so much, so my trio are Pacific Point, Blueberry Bushel and Night of Navy, with Pool Party stamped off to get the 2nd generation colour on the background.

Then with the addition of 3 Leaf Punch outs and a twist of metallic thread, I layered everything up onto a Night of Navy card blank.

Very me I think! But so easy – stamp, punch, glue!
