Rainbow Butterfly Gala with Blends by Stampin’ Up!

#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Rainbow Butterfly Gala with Blends

I adore rainbows, this is not new information….!

I also love butterflies – again, not new information!

So it just makes total sense to put them together and create a pretty card.

I started by stamping the words first from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, then with a pencil, I roughly drew a line where the butterflies would trail, then went over it with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

You have to be brave and commit to your line, otherwise it ends up a bit wibbly!

After that, I stamped 7 butterflies along a strip of shimmery white cardstock and brought out my blend pairs.

I decided to colour first as it was easier to handle them, but it was a gentle fun.

My pairs are Lovely Lipstick, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Call Me Clover, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather.

And with all of them, I laid down the light blend first, then a blob of the dark on the wings nearest the middle, then came back in again with the light.

The shimmery white means that there’s a little sparkle on the wings, enough to catch the light.

Finally, I punched them all and used mini glue dots to place them. I put the middle one down first to get the placement and then attached the rest.

Will you make a rainbow of butterflies?
