#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Dashing Deer Ugly Sprinkles Card, boys love it!
You know those times when you make a card and then go one step too far? This card is one of those moments, but the boys love it! Personally, I am not a happy girl over the finished look, but you know, who can get inside the mind of a middle school boy (or make that boys!).
Here’s what happened. I stamped my Dashing Deer in versamark and covered it with the new Black Glitter Embossing powder. Just as I was shaking off the excess, Berry leaped onto my desk, took one sniff and then sneezed powder everywhere…
We’ll gloss over the grumpies but then as I was playing with my new Sprinkles, specifically the green one, she came along to play again. Waaaaah! And it was while distracted by her and her wandering tail that I made my mistake. I added a little of the pink, thinking it would make a nice sort of reddish background to the green, and be all jolly and festive. Nope.
However, the boys seem to really love it. After I’d left it to dry and sort itself out and consider putting it in the bin, the younger ones wandered into my office and their ‘oh that’s so cool Mum’ comments cheered me up!
As I said, not my style at all, but apparently boys love ugly sprinkles splats. I could have worked that out had I stopped and thought about it…!

Oh Sam, that is sooo funny, but brilliant! The card isn’t that bad. Have a lovely day
Merry, Berry, & Bright Card! I love it simply because Berry helped! Glittery, but not the ‘girly glittery,’ sometimes it just works. I love your idea, and yes, I see what you wanted, but I love that you shared this version! Give Berry an extra scratch for me, please!
Ha ha this made me laugh but that’s why we have a dog – he can’t jump up on tables!
You will have to call that card Berry Christmas! lol
Artistic cat wow I would hold on to that card Sam. Berry could be the Picasso of the cat world and you could make millions. I love, love ,love it because it is sums up Christmas for me. Serene and chaotic all at the same time. Happy crafting x
Your Cat-tastrophy turned into a Happy Accident! I’m with the boys, I think it’s cool.
