#1 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – The Right Triangle ‘Quilters’ Card Idea
I’m not a quilter. I can’t sew much more than a button or a hem, and the reality is that I’m probably more likely to be seen grabbing some bondaweb and an iron than a needle and thread.
But…. as a child, I remember spending hours with my Mum in our local Laura Ashley shop, rummaging around for fat quarters and fabrics for her to make quilts with.
I wish I had a photograph handy of an enormous one that she made, and it was all tiny hexagonal pieces, maybe 4″ (10cm) across. Many a night would see us pinning the fabric around our cardstock hexagon templates, for her to then sew later.
So when I saw the images in the new Right Triangle stamp set, it was quilts that I saw, and so I decided to put together some more vintagey colours of mint macaron, blushing bride, pool party and grey granite to see what would happen.
I considered laying them perfectly to make a pattern, but I actually prefer the ‘piled on’ look of this card. It’s very much how I remember our evenings as a child, just piles of fabric everywhere.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
I hope you enjoyed this project, I absolutely adore what I do and spend many hours working on designs, new projects, new ideas and more.
I love to spoil all the people who shop with me, so every month I post out a handmade card, an exclusive newsletter and a product gift too.
