#1 Stampin’ Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles – Burberry Print Inspired Heart-Checkered Card
Throughout this month, you’ll see that some of my cards were made either by, or with, Jack helping me out.
I had a full on crafting day recently and he was with me for some of it, and as a talented artist himself, I often ask his thoughts on colours or pairings.
I’d already decided that I wanted to do a heart card using the Lots of Heart stamp set and in particular, the checkered pattern.
In mentioning this to him, he then chose the colours and the layout, but until I completed the card, he wouldn’t tell me where the colour inspiration was coming from.
I have to say, this is a great card for a chap, and he himself approved, but it was a total surprise to me when he said that the colours were the traditional Burberry Check that the fashion house is so famous for!
What a clever way to choose colours!
So Jack and I challenge you to do something similar – whether it’s creating a card using these same Burberry colours, or perhaps getting colour inspiration from another fashion house.
For the record, mine are Real Red and Crumb Cake with Basic Black, and my hearts were not cut with the matching dies, but instead, one of the Heart Punches!

Hi, such a simple card but the colours are great and create a brilliant effect.
Can I ask why you used Stazon and not memento ink?
I really like the colors and the simplicity of the card.
