#1 Stampin’ Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles – In Blooms Card with 2nd Generation Stamping
Would you believe me if I said there were only 4 ink colours on my card today?
Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Gorgeous Grape.
But there are definitely 8 different shades showing up.
2nd Generation Stamping is where you ink up your stamp, but then press down on some scrap paper before then going on to your project.
You get a paler look but with the same colour tones. And if you’re working with a darker colour, like the Gorgeous Grape, you can even get a 3rd lighter shade (which I’ve gone for here).
Of course, you don’t have to stamp off on scrap paper, you could do the 2 or 3 colours straight on to your project, but I wanted to have the centres of my flowers in the darker tones and I just love how it looks.
The solid images from the In Bloom stamp set are ideal for this, but we have other stamp sets specifically designed to layer up in a similar way.
So if you’ve not tried this technique before, I hope you have a play soon.
