I love beautifully layered cards, and the great thing is, there are no ‘rules’ at all, just layers.

I like to back each of my layers with a panel of cardstock that matches the card base, and I make sure to have the same size border around each piece (1/2cm) but otherwise, no rules as to the size your panels are!

But on this occasion, I was careful and mindful of where I cut the top 2 layers, I wanted to make sure I didn’t chop off an owl’s head or anything, so that sort of determined the size of the top panel….

I considered stamping, but preferred the grab-and-go of the beautiful ephemera that we have in this suite, and that glorious swooping owl is from there.
