I have another son turning 17 this year, and for those overseas and unfamiliar with driving laws here in the UK, you cannot start learning to drive until you have turned 17. So it’s a huge deal.
It is going to be fun and games with cars on the drive, and we hope that the snowball effect of covid and no driving tests happening begins to subside. Poor Jack turned 17 right at the start of the pandemic, and that meant that he couldn’t get official driving lessons for months. There was also a hold up with his provisional license getting caught in the no-one-in-the-office situation at the DVLA, and then add in all those people rebooking cancelled tests.
We hope the same doesn’t happen for Luke!
But of course, with turning 17 comes the lessons of learning to drive, and I thought that it might be nice to bundle up a gift voucher of lessons for him in this. And that’s why I went with the Driving By stamp set!
Driving lessons aren’t cheap, so if there’s someone you know who’s coming up to 17 this year, trust me, a gift card towards them, or vouchers, or even cold hard cash, well that would be perfect for them!
I reused my fancy fold gift card holder from last October, it worked then and it still works now, and I hope you like it too!
Have a lovely day, and shout out if you’ve got a learner driver (or soon to be!) in your family too!

Very cute gift card holder! I do have a granddaughter that turns 14 in May and where she lives you can get a learner’s permit at that age! I already have another one that turned that age last year, in that same area, wish I had had the set then. But, I might use it for both of them this year! Thanks for sharing all you do and letting us know about your family while showing us! Good luck to Luke when it comes time to get his license/driving lessons.
Yes I have a granddaughter who is turning 16 in October and here where she lives you can get your learner’s. So this idea would be great to use for her. Thanks Sam. Good luck Luke.
Beautiful card! I love your tutorials! All of my kids have their licenses, but my husband and I teach kids to drive for a living. It is fun to work with them and watch as they learn. Here they get their permit at 15 and license at 16. Good luck, Luke!
