#1 Stampin’ Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles – Masking Paper – Your Secret Weapon for Perfect Layered Stamping
If you love building layered scenes and want those crisp, clean stamped images, you need to get to know Masking Paper!
Here’s the clever bit: you can stamp your design directly onto the masking paper, then cut it out with scissors, dies, or punches — and create as many masks or stencils as you like. Stick these over your stamped images on cardstock to protect them while you stamp more images around. Once your scene is finished, peel off the masking paper to reveal perfectly layered, no-overlap stamping. So satisfying!
But that’s not all. Masking paper is also great for protecting stamped images when you want to add colour around them with your blending brushes — no risk of smudges or unwanted ink.
Plus, you can use it for colour blocking — masking off areas to keep them white or create pops of colour exactly where you want.
It’s such a simple tool but opens up so many creative possibilities for your colouring and stamping projects. I absolutely love it!
Have you tried masking paper yet? If not, it’s well worth adding to your craft stash.
